Monthly AC Update: Culture

The Arts and Culture AC met on July 7th at MMI's offices. Representatives from the working group partners were present at the hybrid meeting. Participants were updated on the More For Memphis project. The social policy consultant then walked participants through data on the current state of public funding for the arts in Memphis and Shelby County. Partners then engaged in an energetic discussion about how more artists and organizations could be looped into this work. The group brainstormed potential survey questions and community engagement strategies. The working group's next meeting will be on August 12th, followed by a presentation on data related to the arts as an economic driver on August 25th. The AC plans to conduct an initial round of surveys and focus groups in September and early October.
