The More For Memphis (MFM) plan contains 33 strategies to improve the lives of local residents, particularly for 80,000 residents and 24,000 public school students in target neighborhoods facing persistent poverty in North and South Memphis.
Within the next five years, our collective goal is to set 10,000+ additional young people on a path to economic mobility. Our next goal is to foster a thriving community through progress in economic development, arts and culture, community development, justice and safety, and health and well-being, leading to county-wide positive impacts over time.
The plan to get there includes expanding full-service community schools with school-based healthcare centers, building and repairing thousands of affordable housing units, and investing in re-entry programs and neighborhood-based violence intervention efforts. But it doesn't stop there.
The Institute for Public Service Reporting | Memphis just released a deep dive into the More for Memphis plan and the future of this project, including MFM’s 65-page strategic plan report describing the strategies and the plan for implementation.
